I think it would be nice if Discord had some kind of drawing board for sharing quick ideas that are less understandable through words, like telling your friend how you outplayed someone in League if you forgot to record it, or planning your strategy in CSGO, or just to draw pictures for fun. This would be very helpfel to Tactical gamers.
Imagine you're planning your strategy on that board with the map as background image, and during the operation you can press a key to make it appear in the overlay. Ideally, you can also ping the enemies' last know location or draw the route you're goin to take.
There in fact some live whiteboard sites but I'm not sure if they can work on phones and PCs at the same time, plus keeping a browser open like Chrome just for the whiteboard may affect performance.
This is not mine, but it looks great as a concept art:
I know it's a stretch but can we have it after you're done with the current upcoming features and you become open to suggestions?
Thank you for reading.
Yeah a whiteboard will be really usefull! I hope the Discord team will add soon or later this feature
So. Many. Dicks. Cool idea tho.
Since the Discord client is web-based, a simple collaborative HTML5 Canvas with a few fixed sizes would suffice for most people.
A simple white board would greatly increase the ease of using discord for online tabletop gaming even without the other features like shared maps and such.
Its a awesome concept.
Please no whiteboard. We dont need to cram every shitty idea into Disco. If you want to draw, there are plenty of whiteboards on the internet, all you got to do is share the link. Ffs people today are so lazy.
What happened to this idea?
Assigning tasks with a whiteboard can be a huge help to visual learners along with keeping everyone on the same page.

+1, would surely be a nice little feature, but would definitely need log of edits with names, dates and version of the whiteboard before included and permissions to allow reading/editing/seeing log
Unless you really need it to be in-app or for mobile, or if you just want something temporary, I'd reccomend getting drawpile. It's a collaborative canvas app with lots of tools, like advanced color picking, can paste in images, multiple layers, brush customization, text tool, transform tool, etc. Whoever makes the canvas can even set certain permissions for other collaborators.
if another feedback item can be put in discord for having 6k votes so can this (hopefully it gets there of course lol) i really would love this so so much

I am not particularly fond of this idea in this form, but it would be awesome if you could draw on the screen of a screen-sharing call.

Whiteboarding can already be done with HTML5 and the Proper Setup.. Right inchat from a embed.
Two things I was hoping Discord would get.
Video chat, you guys are doing. I was randomly chosen to test the videochat and screensharing.
It is amazing, blows skype out of the water. Used to use skype for video and discord for audio because skype sounds like garbage.
I no longer need to do that.
Another thing I have been hoping for was some kind of drawing channel. Yet again you guys are on it.
I'd love to have something like this integrated. This would be so nice for drawing up strategies or base plans.
Un mensaje en el que la/s otra/s persona/s pueda/n dibujar para así formar un dibujo en conjunto.
This sounds like a really good idea! Hope it gets implemented
@Bluphenyx maybe instead of a permission to draw, what about an option to turn a channel into a whiteboard, like there is the option to turn a channel to nsfw channel? Sounds better
There WOULD need to be a permission though. Some peeps like to draw... Things
This feature would be an amazing addition to the list of features which discord already has. I'd personally love this to be implemented because it'd remind me of the old pictochat days, as well as being useful for quick sketches within discord art servers. It'd be a lot easier to just draw out critique than it is to type it out or go to a third party program just to draw a diagram and send it. Sure ms paint can work for this but adding something like this would make the whole process more streamlined. Bonus points if it has pressure sensitivity, a colour wheel, etc.
...that and it'd be cool to draw something really tall and have each part done by someone else...
