How can we improve Discord?

Allow changing color for @everyone

Being able to change the color for the everyone role would have positive benefits across the board (especially with server theming)

This isn't really needed. Use a bot such as Dyno bot or several others to automatically assign new users a role on join. You'd also have to worry about dark and light themes which would require two colors.

To reply to what Kot said, the @everyone mention consists of THE GUILD ID. No, we wouldn't be able to change the name though. That's true. Also, that wouldn't make any sense? @everyone applies to all users, whether they have roles or not...

`@everyone` has two colours to begin with, depending on whether you use light theme or dark theme, like all colourless roles. Customising that would be annoying. Of course, the solution is "just don't be in a server where people do that if you have a problem with it", but on the other hand it'd be nice to be able to set a default for each of those, or customise for only one.

You can have a bot automatically assign a role when someone joins your server.

Don't listen to ▼. You can't change the name of @everyone as the team would probably have to redesign the whole client. This is because mentions are actually <@id>, but @everyone is @everyone because it doesn't have an id- so changing the name would be confusing.

I have to agree with RyanRotten. If you could also change the name of @everyone, it would be very nice and more individually.

Yes, bots can give roles automatically to new users that have joined, but this cancels out the Verification Level system.

There are bots that assign auto-roles that you create, and those roles are able to be customized. Dyno is an example.

If we were able to edit the everyone role, name and colour and such, it'd mean that people didn't have to use bots and what-not to assign new members to a "proper everyone" role. Even if you are content with putting people in the right places or even getting someone or something else to do it I still see no reason why it shouldn't be customizable.

And there may be other color/game/use options others would be able to leverage! :)

Community building for EVE Online & using Discord as our main chat/voice system, it'd be very useful to be able to thematically set folks' default status to "red" as it is in the game :) o7
